Complaint about constant blowing noise, even around tracks that have gates with them

AI Highlights
  • - Trains pass the Retreat facility three to four times daily with horn blasts.
  • - Gates by tracks prevent traffic, but noise lasts longer than it should.

I live in Bosque, New Mexico, and your trains come by my retreat facility three or four times a day. I understand the necessary traffic, but I do not understand the constant blowing noise around my retreat center, which has gates by the railway tracks preventing traffic from coming through.

The trains keep blowing quite constantly, and it's not right. They don't have to blow the noise for that long of a time.

Pros:
  • Economy going
  • Keith
Cons:
  • Blowing up the horn noise laughing too lon

Preferred solution: Less blowing of the train horn where there are gates already preventing traffic

User's recommendation: Blowing of horn by the trains near where there are electric post already set up to prevent cars crossing

“… making it difficult to pray at times”. I think God will be fine if the prayer is interrupted. But nice try.

Dear BNSF Staff, First of all, thank you for your railroad for over 145 years! Three days ago I sent an email to you about the length of time that the trains sound their horn near my Society Of Our Lady Retreat Center at 886 NM-116, Bosque, New Mexico.

I am the new Chaplain at my Retreat Center and I am just asking if the length of time of the horn noise can be reduced some, especially since right across the highway from me are the electric gates for a railroad crossing. I would appreciate your help in this matter as the trains pass in front of our Retreat Center four or five times each day, and our place is for meditation and prayer.

God bless you! Father Paul Grala

The railroads were there first. Over 145 years.

They are not breaking any law and are using a secondary manual warning system. If you don’t like it, leave.

Guest

Federal Law requires trains to sound a horn with approaching a crossing. Gate or not.

You do understand that there is thing called the internet.

You can go to it, ask a few questions and get answer. Please stop being obtuse, use the internet for more than whining on a third party site.

Father P

The address of my complaint is 886 NM-116, Bosque, New Mexico. I literally live across NM-116 from the railway tracks.

Also, our Chapel is only about 20-25 yards from the railway so loud sustaining noise makes it difficult to pray at times. I personally know that this issue can be resolved because the family that lives at the following address below lives very close to the railway, and by the road that they live on is a sign that says: "NO BLOWING OF TRAIN HORN". Here is the address: 48 Lopez Rd, Belen, NM 87002. This subdivision is a newer subdivision, but regardless something needs to be done about how long the train noise lasts as the train crosses in front of the electronic railway bars that prevent cars from passing.

Would you kindly let me know what can be done regarding this issue? Sincerely, Father Paul Grala, SOLT

Train is just sitting there engine 4937…. Very unsafe everyone is turning around trying to get out of line because the guys aren’t. May 3 2:26 PM Pacific standard time Spokane Valley, Washington.

AI Highlights
  • - Train went over crossing and stopped about 10 feet from the gate; the gate won't rise.
  • - About 30 minutes of waiting; roads shut while no trains pass.
Bnsf Railway - Train is just sitting there engine 4937…. Very unsafe everyone is turning...

We’re at the intersection of University and Trent in Spokane Valley, and your train has just gone right over the intersection and stopped about 10 feet away from the gate, so the gate won’t come up. Many people are sitting here waiting and have been for about 30 minutes.

Sure glad there’s not an emergency. You shouldn’t be able to shut the roads like that down when there are no trains going by just to *** people off.

User's recommendation: Turn around and go when BNSF just sits there and doesn’t move their trains out of the way for no reason at all

This place sucks!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - From 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, operations stall and 100+ trucks wait.
  • - App issues and poor customer service.
  • - Crane operators take bribes, causing priority favoritism.

From 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, this place is doing nothing. There are over 100 trucks waiting for a lift on or off.

Everyone goes to lunch at the same time. I have literally been here for two hours.

Their app always has issues and the customer service here is bad. The crane operators take bribes, so it's favoritism over priority.

Loss:
$1
Pros:
  • Close to my yard
Cons:
  • This place sucks

Preferred solution: My truck loaded so I can go. I can't even make any money because I'm sitting here for 2 hours

User's recommendation: Don't come between 12 and 2 because they aren't working at all!

There are loud train horns blowing in a residential area in La Crosse, Wisconsin, specifically the Southside, at odd hours of the day. These sounds echo off the bluffs. I'm sure not everyone wants to hear this, especially for people who get up early for work.

Ridiculous loud horn on single passenger car train

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - One locomotive with one passenger car passes near Deer River, MN; neighbor asks for investigation.
  • - The horn is very loud on weekend mornings 3-5 am.

I have lived next to your tracks for over 20 years and in the last few years I have noticed a single locomotive pulling a single passenger car going by. The problem is that it goes by way early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday and it sounds off a very very very loud long repetitive horn.

THIS IS BS !!

What is wrong with your operator, does he think this is funny or what?

I live just a little west of Deer River, MN.

I don't mind the trains during the day and at night, most of your operators are aware of the time at night and make quick work of the horn. This IDIOT just lays on it constantly? If you want to get pissed off early in the morning, come live here and get woke up.

I'm not talking 7-8 in the morning, I'm talking about 3-5 am!

Thanks for your time, please look into this. Please advise/ respond, Thanks.

One pissed off neighbor.

User's recommendation: Don't live next to railroad tracks in northern Minnesota

Unlawful firing / fraud

AI Highlights
  • - Fired after hire with no background check, and claims it's illegal.
  • - Wage shows $16.05/hr on Dayforce instead of $17.33/hr; seeks resolution.

I got fired after already being hired when there was no background check done so that is illegal

Then I am suppose to be getting paid $17.33 an hour but on Dayforce it shows that I am going to get paid $16.05 so that is fraud and so we need to find a resolution which since your business hired me before it was suppose to be allowed so we can handle this by keeping me hired since I put in more hours then all the other drivers my diligence shows I bring your business a success and I am an asset not a liability please reach back to me at 208500****

Concerned employee

AI Highlights
  • - Dismissed Oct 2023 for quarrelsome, discourteous behavior and dishonesty.
  • - Questions why 8/26 camera, witnesses, and statements weren’t reviewed.

Hello my name is Amanda walla and I was dismissed from my job October of 2023 for my alleged quarrelsome , discourteous and inappropriate behavior towards my fellow co-workers, which allegedly created a hostile work environment and my alleged dishonesty during a human resource investigation on 9/6/23 , my investigation was the 9/28/23.

I would like to know why I was dismissed?

And Human Resources or the company didnt review the camera on 8/26/23 or why none of the people who made statements or that Al fingar were not arranged to attend as witnesses so I and my representation could cross exam them or was not given the statements made by people prior to my investigation?Bnsf policy is that Everyone will get a fair investigation. Or that Human Resources brooke owens and Al fingar did not document the conversations we had on the 29 and 30 of August.

Brooke owens(hr) never mentioned or stated which co-workers I allegedly did this to or stated how I was dishonest to her on the 6th of September.

In the conversations on 8-29 and the 30th I mentioned that I was being harassed and retaliated by my fellow co-workers( as some were saying things to me) Brooke owens told me that that is not really harassment or retaliation.

How is that not? (BNSF has a policy on this )

I was not on probation or had any complaints prior to this, yet I was dismissed. Yet other employees receive waivers or put on probation for the same things or even worse again I got dismissed.

Is it BNSFs policy to dismiss someone without proper proof or evidence just thats it all he said she said ? I always came to work and did my job safely and in a timely matter and was respectful to all my co- workers (ask my mechanical foremen on the pit)

Thank you I hope to hear back.

Amanda Walla
